Seed Vegetables Seeds are small parts that a plant produces that can be used to grow a new plant. The seeds of some plants are delicious to eat. Peas and corn are examples of seed vegetables. Seed vegetables are best when they are freshly picked. They lose their moisture, crispness, and flavor quickly. Small seeds have the best flavor (Figure 15.9).
