Note: To gain access to the housing bolts on some vehicles, the rear bearing cotter pin, nut, washer, and outer bearing must be removed. Next, remove the bolts holding the bearing housing to the axle. Some bolts have Torx heads, and a special socket is needed to remove them. This tool is used to lock the rear steering gear before setting rear camber and toe. Never forget to remove the locking tool after proper alignment is obtained. If the vehicle is operated before the tool is removed, the steering gear can be damaged.
