Changing Properties Using the Changing Properties Using the
Properties Palette Properties Palette
Properties of 3D objects can be modifi using the fied
Properties
palette, which is
thoroughly discussed in AutoCAD and Its Applications—Basics. This palette is
displayed using the
PROPERTIES
command. You can also select a solid object, right-
click, and pick
Properties
from the shortcut menu.
The
Properties
palette lists the properties of the currently selected object. For
example, Figure 8-1 lists the properties of a selected solid sphere. Some of its proper-
ties are parameters, which is why solid modeling in AutoCAD can be considered para-
metric. You can change the sphere’s radius; diameter; X, Y, Z coordinates; linetype;
linetype scale; color; layer; lineweight; and visual settings. The categories and proper-
ties available in the
Properties
palette depend on the selected object.
To modify an object property, select the property. Then, enter a new value in the
right-hand column. The drawing is updated to reflect the changes. You can leave the fl
Properties
palette open as you continue with your work.
