5. General Develop a drawing planning sheet for use in your school or company.
List items you think are important for planning a CAD drawing. Make changes to
this sheet as you learn more about AutoCAD.
6. General Create a freehand sketch of the default AutoCAD window with the

workspace active and a new drawing started using the
acad.dwt
template. Label each of the screen areas. To the side of the sketch, write a
short description of the function of each screen area.

the Autodesk Education Community. After you register, download a student
version of AutoCAD to your home or laptop computer. Use your copy of AutoCAD

CADD lab. The Autodesk Education Community website provides complete infor-
mation on the registration and download process.
