Copyright Goodheart-Willcox Co., Inc. Chapter 17 Materials in AutoCAD 455 Transparency Category Transparency is a measure of how much light the material allows to pass through it. Glass, water, crystal, and some plastics, along with other materials, are nearly completely transparent. Figure 17-13 shows an example of using a transparent material to show the internal workings of a mechanical assembly. The Transparency category contains a number of properties that combine to create any transparent or semitrans- parent material, Figure 17-14. The amount of light that passes through the material is controlled by the Amount property. When this property is set to 0, the material is opaque. A setting of 100 creates a completely transparent material. Enter an index of refraction Select a preset index of refraction Transparency amount Translucency setting Figure 17-14.
