Exploring Certification
Career Certification Skills—Using Reading Skills
Career Certification Skills questions are designed to help you prepare for formal certification
test questions. Take your time and decide the best way to approach each activity.
Positive thinking can be a major challenge when you are looking for a job. However, it is one
of the most important habits that you can develop. Make it a point to work on positive self-talk as
you start your career journey. Reading about positive thinking can be inspirational. You can learn
how to focus on the good things, rather than the negative.
1. Conduct an Internet search on positive thinking. List the titles, authors, and URLs for
three articles.
2. In order to retain information that you read, it is necessary to focus and read with a purpose.
As you read each article, determine the central ideas and review the conclusions made by the
author. Summarize who, what, when, and where for each article and record the information
for future reference.
