When the ShowMotion toolbar appears at the bottom-center of the drawing window, pick the New Shot… button. See Figure 3-3A. The New View/Shot Properties dialog box appears, Figure 3-3B. The NEWVIEW command also provides access to the New View/Shot Properties dialog box. To create a named view, pick the View Properties tab. Enter a view name and select Still for the view type. Pick the Current display radio button to accept the model display as is. You can also pick the Define window radio button to return to the model and refi ne the display. Pick OK to complete the named view creation. Two images now appear above the ShowMotion toolbar. See Figure 3-4A. The large image is the view category and displays the default name of None. Above it is the thumbnail of the view just created with its name shown below. Regardless of the view that is displayed on the screen, you can always display a named view by picking the Play button in the view thumbnail. See Figure 3-4B. The new view name will appear under the Model Views branch in the View Manager dialog box when using the VIEW command. Named views are saved with the drawing and can be displayed at any time by selecting from the drop-down list in the Named Views panel of the Visualize or View ribbon tab. A named view can be used for any show motion view. The functions of the view category and view thumbnails are much more obvious when working with a variety of different views. A complete discussion of show motion is provided in Chapter 20.
