Chapter 11 Animation Composition
Speaking and Listening. Perform an Internet search on straight-ahead
action versus pose-to-pose action. Look for opinions for and against each
type of animation. After reading a few expert opinions on this topic, use this
information to form your own opinion. Discuss your findings and reasoning
with the class. As you listen to your classmates’ opinions on this topic, evaluate
your own position. How does their reasoning contribute to your understanding
of the two types of action? Does your opinion change or is it strengthened?
Some Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) require
appropriate business attire from all entrants and those attending the
competition. This requirement is in keeping with the mission of CTSOs:
to prepare students for professional careers in business. To be certain that
the attire you have chosen for the competition is in accordance with event
requirements:
1. Visit the organization’s website and look for the most current dress code.
2. The dress code requirements are very detailed and gender specific. Some
CTSOs may require a chapter blazer to be worn during the competition.
3. Do a dress rehearsal when practicing for your event. Are you comfortable in
the clothes you have chosen? Do you present a professional appearance?
4. Be sure the clothes you wear are clean and pressed. You do not want to
undermine your appearance or event performance with wrinkled clothes
that may distract judges.
5. Make sure your hair is neat and worn in a conservative style. If you are a
male, you should be clean shaven. Again, you do not want anything about
your appearance detracting from your performance.
6. As far in advance of the event as is possible, share your clothing choice with
your organization’s advisor to make sure you are appropriately dressed.
