In these chapters, emphasis is placed on providing the skills needed to understand basic electrical circuits. Chapter 1 provides critical safety information as the foundation for a safe learning experience. Chapter 2 introduces career choices in the electrical and electronics fi eld. Chapters 3 and 4 are an introduction to basic electrical theory and meters. Once you have learned how to use these electrical meters, lab activities can be started. In Chapter 5, basic electrical materials are introduced. Chapter 6 introduces the principles of energy, both mechanical and electrical. Th is section ends with Chapter 7 introducing the common sources of electricity. By this point, all the necessities for conducting lab activities will be covered.
