Tim O’Shaughnessy
In 2007 at the age of 25, Tim O’Shaughnessy, together with
Val Aleksenko, Aaron Batalion, and Eddie Frederick, started
a company called Hungry Machine. The company began as a
business consultancy and Facebook-application developer. As the
business evolved, it began focusing on how to bridge the gap between
online and offline business. Two years later, LivingSocial was born.
Tim is LivingSocial’s chief executive officer. He is responsible for setting the
company’s strategies and overseeing its growth. Tim has earned degrees in
marketing, operations, and information management from Georgetown University.
Degrees like the ones Tim has are invaluable when starting your own business.
Today, LivingSocial has become the online source for discovering valuable
local experiences in the United States and worldwide. LivingSocial
members receive daily e-mails offering big discounts for new
experiences, such as excursions, meals, and getaways, in
their area.
