About the Authors For 35 years, Jacquelyn Rhine Marshall has been a medical professional a medical careers instructor for Regional Occupational Programs, California a medical writer and a consultant/writer for the Center for Occupational Research and Development in Austin, Texas. Ms. Marshall’s writing career includes authoring textbooks for Cengage Learning, Elsevier Publishing, Career Publishing, and Pearson Education, and writing medical course curriculum for the state of California. She has also developed several instructor guides and has edited or contributed to three medical series. Ms. Marshall holds degrees from the University of California, Berkeley California State University, Hayward and Notre Dame de Namur University. Dr. Sue C. Roe has taught and designed academic courses for over 35 years at several public and private universities/colleges using a variety of delivery formats. She is co-editor of “Connections in Holistic Nursing Research,” an online newsletter from the American Holistic Nurses Association, and was the Chapter Leader for the Phoenix Metro Holistic Nurses chapter of the American Holistic Nurses Association. She currently serves on a health system quality committee. Dr. Roe is Manager/Member of The Roe Group Enterprises, LLC and has a doctorate in public administration, with an emphasis in administration and policy. In addition, she has done graduate-level work in educational administration and instructional development. She has a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Contributing Author. Linda Romano currently teaches a Health Science/Nurse Aide pro- gram at Newburgh Free Academy-North Campus. She participated in the development of the 2006 New York State Nurse Aide Training Program Curriculum and several projects with the New York State Department of Health and Prometric. Linda is highly involved in her school community, serving as co-chairperson for the Building Leadership Team, serv- ing on the Health and Safety Committee, mentoring new teachers, mentoring students, and volunteering for many other projects. In addition, she serves on the Executive Board for the New York State Health Science Educator Association. Linda has presented her project-based learning styles and creative strategies at both ACTE and NCHSE.
