Formerly Chapter 5, revisions include changes to the NCIDQ examinations required to earn the NCIDQ certificate, expanded coverage on Design Thinking, the addition of information on the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™) Credential, and updates to the features. Chapter 3 The Human Impact of Interior Design Former Chapter 10 incorporates information on privacy and stress, net zero energy buildings, wellness and well-being, the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™), details on the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™), and updates to the LEED Credit Categories. Chapter 4 The Profession of Interior Design—Yesterday and Today Former Chapter 2 includes revisions to IIDA and its new logo, CIDQ services performed by interior designers, digital technologies and quantitative data, virtual design, and changes in the state of the industry. Chapter 5 Interior Design Specialty Areas of Practice Added to former Chapter 3 is an emphasis on the growing overlap between commercial and residential design and occupant-centered spaces, home sharing, the impact of birthrate and diversity, neuroscience in the workplace, and trends in hospitality, education, and retail design. Chapter 6 The Business of Interior Design Former Chapter 4 incorporates significant trends that impact the profession and business models, changes to titles or positions available in studio-based design firms, and current information on title and practice acts.
