Portable turning equipment is available for
work in the field, such as chamfering the ends of
large pipe before welding. See Figure 28-34.
Many types of CNC (computer numerical
control) lathes and turning machines are used for
industrial production. With proper program-
ming, these machine tools are capable of
producing complex work with great accuracy.
