The Holistic Nursing Assistant 7 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description Job Summary: Assists licensed nursing staff in the provision of basic care for residents and provides necessary unit tasks and functions in compliance with facility policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare standards. Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned. Assist residents to meet daily needs while providing a safe environment and ensuring the dignity and well-being of residents. Bathe, dress, and undress residents who need help. Assist with other tasks, including but not limited to shaving, nails, and hair. Change linens and towels regularly, straighten room, remove soiled linens, and make residents’ beds, ensuring that all residents’ rooms look neat and clean. Ensure all call lights are in reach of residents and answer call lights within five minutes. Serve meals. Assist with eating, if needed. Assist with new resident admission. Maintain safety and security at all times. Report pertinent resident information to licensed nursing staff. Complete all forms according to policies and procedures. Participate in facility activities, including in-service education and disaster drills. Consistently display professional behavior and attitudes and represent the goals and values of the facility. Qualifications: Must have a current and valid Nursing Assistant Certification. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be compassionate, mature, sympathetic, and professional at all times. Must have good organization and communication skills. Must have the ability to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions. Must successfully complete all preemployment requirements. Must have the physical ability to perform job‐related duties, which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, and pulling.
