Insects and Flowers
Flowers and some insects have a close
working relationship. Two common flower
visitors (and thus, the most likely photo subjects)
are butterflies and bees, Figure 12-24. Most often,
you would use a telephoto zoom lens to take
shots of insects on flowers, since moving in too
close threatens them and causes them to leave.
Since insects move quickly and erratically from
flower to flower, mount the camera on a monopod
to provide both support and easy movement to
the best vantage point. Use aperture priority to
gain the desired depth of field and manual focus
for the greatest possible sharpness.
