2. You are capturing a four- or five-shot
panorama on a partly cloudy day when the
light keeps changing from sunny to cloudy.
Would you expect to get better results by
setting your camera’s white balance to
automatic, or by changing it for each shot to
match the lighting? Why?
Communicating about
Photography
1. Speaking. Select a figure in this chapter, such
as Figure 12-33 or Figure 12-63. Working with
a partner, tell and then retell the important
information being conveyed by that figure
and its caption. Through your collaboration,
develop what you and your partner believe
is the most interesting description of the
importance of the chosen figure. Present your
narration to the class.
2. Speaking and Listening. Divide into
groups of four or five students. Each group
should choose one of these topics—water
photography, animal photography, flower
photography, or infrared photography.
Using your textbook as a starting point,
research your topic and prepare a report on
techniques for obtaining good photos. As a
group, deliver your presentation to the rest of
the class. Take notes while the other students
give their reports. Ask questions about any
details that you would like clarified.
