For example, to get help in Windows File Explorer, click the Help button (question mark) in the upper-right corner of the window. A web browser is launched and automatically searches for a phrase related to the help topic, such as get help with file explorer in Windows 10. Since help was accessed from within Windows File Explorer, the initial search phrase is related to fi le management. The search engine will rank topics in an order most likely to match the search phrase, but do not assume the fi rst topic will contain the information you seek. Carefully read the name of each topic. Evaluate how closely the words in the title match the search phrase. Once you have determined which topic is most likely to contain the information you seek, click the hyperlink. Then, scan the article to see if it appears to contain the needed information. If not, click the Back button and evaluate other topics. Otherwise, read the details of the article. Other search queries or keywords can be entered into the search box from this page if the desired answer is not found. Windows 10 provides two programs, or apps, to provide additional help and support. The Tips app provides tutorials to help users utilize the features of Windows 10, such as customizing the Start menu. The Get Help app is accessed through the Settings window. To learn more about a setting and fi nd answers to questions about it, select the Get help link when viewing that setting. In addition, Microsoft provides a website to support users of its software. Navigate to the Microsoft website and click Support. A menu displays the Microsoft software programs. Select the desired program, such as Windows. File Properties The fi le properties are all information about the fi le, but not the data contained within the fi le. Properties include, among other things, the creation date, date of the last save, current permission setting, and whether or not it is hidden. The fi le properties are displayed in the Properties dialog box. To open this dialog box, right-click on a fi le, and then click Properties in the shortcut menu. FYI FYI The help feature for Windows can also be accessed through the Start menu. When accessed in this way, the initial topics are for Windows in general.
