This is easier than reentering the URL of a previously visited page. The refresh function is used to reinitialize the current page. This is sometimes needed if the page has frozen or is used to update dynamic information on the page, such as the display of the amount of time left in an online auction. Favorites or Bookmarks. Often while searching for information, several sites may prove to be helpful. Rather than writing down the URLs and reentering them later to return to the sites, it is possible to fl ag the sites as a favorite or bookmark. The browser stores the title and URL of the page. Opening the list of favorites or bookmarks and clicking the link retrieves that page. Most browsers allow a specifi c list of bookmarks to be made that can be shared with other users. This is a useful feature when researching a group project. All of the relevant bookmarks can be kept together and shared with everybody in the group. Plug-ins. A plug-in, or add-on, is a helper fi le that extends the capability of a software application, in this case, a browser. For example, Adobe Flash Player is a browser plug-in. The benefi t of a plug-in is that patches can be sent from the developer to update only that part of the browser. It is not necessary to install a new browser each time an update needs to be made.
