Pat earned her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and attended the American Floral Art School in Chicago, Illinois. An award-winning designer, she has taught Advanced Floral Design at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, Illinois, and presented educational programs for various organizations, including the American Institute of Floral Designers, state fl orists’ associations, wholesale fl orists, and garden clubs. A Laureate Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, Pat has authored and coauthored several books, including The Floral Artist’s Guide: A Reference to Cut Flowers and Foliages and The AIFD Guide to Floral Design. Pat grew up in the fl oral industry as part of a third- generation family-owned retail fl ower shop in southwestern Illinois. James M. DelPrince is a Horticulture Specialist with the Mississippi State University Extension Service. Jim received his doctoral degree in Agricultural and Extension Education from Mississippi State University, and a master’s of science degree in Agricultural Education and a bachelor’s of science degree in Horticulture from The Ohio State University. A Laureate Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, Jim has authored and coauthored several books, including Interior Plantscaping: Principles and Practices, A Centennial History of the American Florist, and The AIFD Guide to Floral Design. He is also the author of multiple extension publications, trade press, and scholarly journal articles.
