5.3.3 Boots
A branch runout starts at the main supply duct and terminates at the
supply register, louver, or grille in the occupied space. The duct fi tting
that connects the branch runout to the supply register is called a boot.
Boots, Figure 5-25, are designed for dozens of applications and come in
multiple styles for use with wall, fl oor, ceiling, and other specialty supply
air applications.
