Verb Forms Understanding verb forms, such as participles, gerunds, and infinitives, can help you write clear and creative messages. These verb forms are also called verbals. Participles A present participle is a verb form that indicates action is in progress or ongoing. It can also be used as an adjective. To create a present participle, Lunchtime is an opportunity to go green. The most environmentally friendly lunch option is to bring lunch in a reusable container. Any packaging waste generated from a packed lunch should be recycled. Most employers now have the option to recycle paper, plastic, and aluminum. Getting delivery or takeout inevitably ends with a large amount of packaging waste, not to mention the fuel cost involved. If it is necessary to have lunch delivered or to get takeout, join coworkers in placing a large order. This is more efficient than many small, separate orders. If you go out for lunch, try biking or walking instead of driving. Use reusable plates, utensils, and napkins whenever possible. Disposable versions of these items usually cannot be recycled after they are soiled and will end up in landfills. Green Lunch
