Keep career fl exibility in mind as you explore various occupations and careers. Success in the workplace requires self-reliance, adaptability, transferable skills, and the willingness and ability to learn new skills. Career Clusters One of the best ways to learn about careers is by studying the career clusters, the groups of occupational and career specialties as shown in Figure 1-5. The clusters and career pathways were developed by educators, employers, and professional groups. These experts carefully examined what students must know to explore educational opportunities and be better prepared for college and career success.
