Equipment & Engine Training
Council (EETC) Certifi cation
The Equipment & Engine Training Council (EETC) creates volun-
tary technician certifi cation tests. EETC certifi cation tests are carefully
constructed to measure knowledge in basic skills, interpersonal relationship skills,
engine fundamentals, theory, servicing, failure analysis, troubleshooting, and repair.
These tests are available to anyone wishing to enhance their training, employment
opportunities, and personal credibility.
Passing a certifi cation test indicates that an individual has met industry stan-
dards of professionalism and has studied to obtain certifi cation. Certifi cation can be
obtained in one or more of the following areas:
• Four-Stroke Engines.
• Two-Stroke Engines.
• Compact Diesel Engines.
• Electrical.
• Driveline/Hydraulics.
• Generators.
• Components Plus.
• Reel Technology.
Each certifi cation area has its own certifi cation test. Individuals passing one or
more certifi cation tests are granted EETC Technician Certifi cation. Those passing six
of the eight available tests are granted Master Technician Certifi cation.
Small Gas Engines is an ideal resource for those preparing for the EETC certifi cation

EETC certifi cation can provide personal and professional benefi ts. Personal prestige
