may want to investigate the website
of the Association for Applied

8. Health literacy. Many roadblocks
are also considered crises and
cause stress to individuals and family
members. Using the National Institute
of Mental Health website and other
reliable resources, research the effects
of stress on the body. Then create a
graphic representation of the body and
highlight areas of the body affected by
stress. Also include possible sources
of stress, management strategies or
coping methods, and resources people
can use for stress management.
9. Communication and collaboration.
Work in teams to select one health
risk and plan an ad campaign to
reduce its appeal to teenagers. Design
posters, bumper stickers, T-shirts,
bulletin boards, or commercials using
scanners, drawing software, color
printers, or video cameras.
10. Health literacy. Research the ten
most common sexually transmitted
infections in the United States. Prepare
a chart listing the STIs and symptoms
and causes of each one.

include unemployment, death of a
loved one, addiction, abuse, and
learning of a disorder or chronic illness.

write an informative essay for how a
teen within that family might cope with
this crisis. Include sources of help
specifi c to the crisis.
14. Reading, writing. Using reliable
online sources, research the effects of
bullying and cyberbullying on teens.
How does bullying affect a person

emotionally? Use your research to
write an essay describing effects of
bullying and cyberbullying.
