planning your career. Do you know their meanings? A job is one or
more tasks, while an occupation is paid employment involving a job. An
occupation, however, is often called a job. A career is a series of related
occupations that show progression in a fi eld of work.
Begin career planning by picturing yourself in the occupations that
interest you. This helps you narrow the list of career possibilities and
focus on your favorites.
