unit pricing. A consumer aid that shows the cost
per standard unit of weight or measure for a

universal design. The concept of creating products
and living spaces that are easy for everyone to

universal product code (UPC). A group of bars
and numbers appearing on a product that
contains price and product information. (14-2)
unsaturated fats. Fats that are usually liquid at
room temperature and often referred to as

warranty. A written promise by a manufacturer
that a product will meet specifi ed standards

wattage. A measurement of the amount of energy

weaving. The process of interlacing two sets of
yarns to produce a fabric. (20-1)
will. A legal document describing how a person
intends for property to be distributed after his

work ethic. A standard of conduct for successful

work plan. A detailed list of all the duties that must
