POV Cameras
Also known as “action” or “helmet” cameras, POV cameras are very
versatile due to their size and weight. They can be worn, mounted to vehi-
cles and even used underwater. Their nominal price point has made them
the fi rst video camera for many students. They are known for their wide
fi eld of view and impressive frame rate options for slow motion. You have
probably seen a video of a mountain biker traversing a treacherous trail or
a base jumper taking us along for the ride with a camera strapped to his
helmet (Figure 3-7).
