Searching for Messages
Google provides tools to help users fi nd messages they need. A quick
search can be conducted from the default Gmail window. Users can also
complete a more focused search using the advanced search feature.
Performing a Basic Search
1. Log in to your Google Mail account.
2. In the search text box at the top of the
Mail
page, enter
Tran
Nguyen, as
shown in Figure 1-8.
3. Click the
Search Mail
button. All messages that have Tran Nguyen in
the subject line or the body are listed in the
Mail
page. If there are more
than twenty messages, the messages appear on multiple pages. Click the
arrows to view the other pages.
4. Click the
Inbox
label to clear the search and view all of the messages in
your inbox.
Performing an Advanced Search
5. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the search text box. The
Search
dialog box shown in Figure 1-9 is shown.
6. In the
Has the words
text box, enter
