Using Stars
Gmail users can assign a star or another symbol to an e-mail. Using this
tool makes certain messages stand out. Also, starred messages are displayed
in the
Starred
label.
1. Click the
Settings
button to display a drop-down menu, as shown in
Figure 2-6.
2. Click
Settings
in the drop-down menu. The
Settings
page is displayed.
3. Click the
General
tab and scroll down to the
Stars
section.
4. Click and hold the
Red-Star
icon in the
Not in use:
row, drag the icon to
the
In use:
row, and drop it, as shown in Figure 2-7.
5. Move the
Red-Bang
icon and the
Purple-Question
icon from the
Not in use:
row to the
In use:
row.
6. Move the
Yellow-Star
icon from the
In use:
row to the
Not in use:
row.
7. Move the
Red-Star
icon to the far left of the
In use:
row. This will make
it the fi rst symbol that appears when clicked. The order in which the
symbols appear in the
In use:
row determines the order in which they
will be displayed when clicked.
