technological displays), present your storyboard to the class. Explain what
would happen in the level and why players would be motivated to complete
this level.
Creating a computer game is a competitive event that may be offered
by your Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO). This may be an
individual or team event. There may be two parts to this event: the prejudged
program and the performance portion. To prepare for the performance portion
of a presentation:
1. Read the guidelines provided by your organization. Make certain that you
ask any questions about points you do not understand. It is important you
follow each specific item that is outlined in the competition rules.
2. On your CTSO’s website, locate a rubric or scoring sheet for the event.
3. Confirm the use of equipment or other visual aids that may be used in the
presentation of the game and amount of setup time permitted.
4. Review the rules to confirm if questions will be asked or if the team will
need to defend a case or business plan.
5. Make notes on index cards about important points to remember. Use these
notes to study. You may also be able to use these notes during the event,
depending on event rules.
6. Practice the presentation. Each team member should introduce himself or
herself, review the game being presented, defend the game construction,
and conclude with a summary.
7. After the presentation is complete, ask for feedback from your teacher. You
may also consider having a student audience listen and give feedback.
