A
nimation is found in almost every video game. Some games have complex
animations with many special effects. Other games make use of relatively simple
animations. Even most early video games had simple animations. Understanding
the basic principles of animation composition is important for any video game
designer. This chapter discusses the elements of motion and principles of
animation, as well as covering some more advanced animation compositions.
