Video Game Design and Programming Concepts 58 Office Technology Integration Using Word Processing Software 1. Launch Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software, and open the vocabulary spreadsheet you updated in the last lesson. 2. Applying what you have learned, add a new worksheet and name it Lesson 3. 3. Add each of the vocabulary words and definitions from the Vocabulary section of this lesson. 4. Save the spreadsheet. 5. Launch Microsoft Word or other word-processing program, and start a new blank document. 6. Save the document as LastName_Formatting in your working folder. 7. Locate the Page Setup group of commands on the Layout tab on the ribbon (Layout Page Setup). 8. Click the Margins button, and select the option with margins set at 1 inch on the top, bottom, left, and right. 9. Click Insert Header & Footer Header on the ribbon, and choose the Blank (Three Columns) option. The header area is activated, and three text fields are available for entering text, as shown. Click the center text field, and enter the name of this class. 12. In the right-hand text field, enter the period or hour this class meets. 13. Double-click below the header area to close the header. 14. Enter the text Writing Prompt #1 on the first line of the document. 15. Press the [Enter] key two times to add space below the text. 16. Select the text and the blank lines. 17. Click Home Styles No Spacing in the style gallery on the ribbon. 18. Click anywhere in the line that contains the text. 19. Applying what you have learned, assign the Heading 1 style. 20. Use the down arrow key to move down to the last line. There should be a blank line between the cursor and the text. 21. Add the text Claim:, and press the [Enter] key. 22. Select the text Claim:, and locate the Home Font group on the ribbon. 23. Use the formatting commands to change the font to Times New Roman, the size to 12, and apply bold and underline formatting. 24. Save your work, and close Word.
