Broken-Out Section The broken-out section is used when a small portion of a sectional view will provide the necessary information, Figure 5-25. Break lines define the section. Conventional Break A long, uniformly shaped object is sometimes difficult to present in a scale large enough to show its details clearly. A conventional break permits elon- gated objects to be shortened so a large enough scale can be used to present details with clarity, Figure 5-26. Figure 5-23.
