NOTE NOTE Use coordinate entry, object snap modes, and other drawing aids to pick points when using the MEASUREGEOM command. PROFESSIONAL TIP P R OFESSIONAL TIP You should typically use the Multiple points option of the Distance option to calcu- late the total distance between points of an open shape. The Area option of the MEASUREGEOM command, described later in this chapter, is more suited to calcu- lating the perimeter of a closed shape. Measuring Radius and Diameter Specify the Radius option of the MEASUREGEOM command and pick an arc or circle to measure radius and diameter. The dimensions appear on-screen, as shown in Figure 15-6, and at the command line. Measuring Angles Use the Angle option of the MEASUREGEOM command to fi nd the angle between lines or points. To measure the angle between two lines, select the fi rst line followed by the second line. The dimension appears on-screen, as shown in Figure 15-7A, and at the command line. Select an arc to measure the angle between arc endpoints. See Figure 15-7B. Figure 15-6. The data provided by the Radius option when you measure a circle or arc. Circle Arc Figure 15-7.
