available after you pick the fi rst object, provides another chance to modify the radius
before drawing the fi llet or round. If the preview looks acceptable, pick the second
object to apply the fi llet or round.
PROFESSIONAL TIP PROFESSIONAL TIP
Use the
FILLET
command to form sharp corners by specifying a
radius of
0
or by holding down
[Shift]
when you pick the second object.
NOTE NOTE
Only corners large enough to accept the specifi ed fi llet radius are
eligible for fi lleting.

Creating Full Rounds
You can use the
FILLET
command to draw a full round between parallel lines.
The radius of a fi llet between parallel lines is always half the distance between the two
lines, regardless of the radius setting. Use this method to create a full round, such as
the end radii of a slot.
Polyline Option
Use the
Polyline
option to fi llet all corners of a closed polyline. See Figure 11-2. Set the
appropriate radius before selecting the
Polyline
option or use the
Radius
option after you
select the
Polyline
option to modify the radius. If the polyline was drawn without using the
Close
option, the beginning corner does not fi llet, as shown in Figure 11-2.
Closing Polylines
You can use the
FILLET
command to extend, or close, nonparallel and noninter-
secting polylines to the implied intersection. Use this technique to close separate or
linked polyline or polyline arc segments. The specifi ed radius applies and the result is
a single polyline object.
