Chapter 16 Visual Style Settings and Basic Rendering 435 Turning on Sky Background and Illumination adds more realism to the scene by fi lling in the shadow areas with indirect light. See Figure 16-18. Picking the fl yout under the Sky Off button provides access to this setting. The projection must be set to perspective to access the sky settings. NOTE NOTE If the scene is washed-out with light after turning on sunlight, you can adjust the exposure by using the Light Exposure slider in the Lights panel in the Visualize tab of the ribbon. A higher exposure setting will darken the scene. Rendering the Scene The Render panel on the Visualize tab of the ribbon is shown in Figure 16-19. If you pick the Render to Size button, the Render window appears and AutoCAD imme- diately starts rendering the viewport. The rendering is processed over a number of levels, with each level improving the quality of the image. A progress bar at the bottom of the window indicates which level is being processed and its percentage of comple- tion. The Render window is explained more in the next section. The Render to Size fl yout contains options for rendering the scene at different resolutions. The default size is 800 × 600 pixels. Larger resolutions will result in longer rendering times.
