Drawing Problems - Chapter 1 Drawing Problems - Chapter 19 526 AutoCAD and Its Applications—Advanced Copyright Goodheart-Willcox Co., Inc. 2. General In this problem, you will experiment with the image based lighting environments designed for indoor scenes. A. Start a new drawing and save it as P19-2. B. Draw a planar surface that is 50 units × 20 units. C. Randomly place various objects (cones, boxes, spheres, etc.) on the plane. Assign a different color or material to each object. D. Create a viewpoint that is almost at ground level looking down the length of the plane. Try to get as many objects in the view as possible. Save this as a named view and add a background of some type. E. Add a distant light source. Position it and adjust its intensity so that interesting shadows are created in the scene, but the objects are sufficiently illuminated. F. Render the scene to see how it looks and adjust the lighting if necessary. G. Open the Materials Browser and add a different material to each object in the scene. Use different types of materials to see how they are affected by the image based lighting environments. H. Render the scene. I. Render the scene using each of the Sharp Highlights, Rim Highlights, Grid Lights, Cool Light, Warm Light, and Soft Light image based lighting environments. Determine which one you feel looks the best. Adjust the Exposure: and White Balance: settings in the Render Environment & Exposure palette as appropriate. J. Render the scene a final time with the render preset of your choice. K. Save the image as P19-2.jpg. L. Save the drawing. A full-color image is provided on the companion website. www.g-wlearning.com/CAD/
