Select all text in the Baltimore2 document by pressing the [Ctrl][A] key combination. 5. Click Home Clipboard Copy in the ribbon, as shown. All text in the document is placed on the system clipboard. Copy Click to copy 6. Close the Baltimore2 fi le without saving it. 7. In the LastNameBaltimore1 fi le, place the insertion point at the end of the document. 8. Applying what you have learned, create a new line (paragraph). 9. Click Home Clipboard Paste in the ribbon. The content of the system clipboard, which is the text from the other document, is placed at the insertion point. 10. Applying what you have learned, select the line at the end of the document with the text Matisse’s Marguerite: Model Daughter. 11. Click on the selection, hold, and drag the text to the beginning of the line above it. As you drag, a small rectangle appears next to the cursor. 12. Release the mouse button. The selected text is moved to the new location. 13. Save the fi le. Paste Formatting Text Formatting text means changing the appearance of the characters. Bold, italic, and underline are examples of text formatting. Other examples include making the characters larger or smaller, striking a line through them, and changing their color. Formatting changes are applied to selected text or the text where the insertion point is located. To clear formatting, select the desired text and click Home Font Clear Formatting. Fonts A typeface is a design of characters. In common usage, the term font is used to mean typeface, although technically these are not the same thing. Common typefaces are Arial, Times New Roman, and Courier. Dozens of typefaces are installed with Windows and Microsoft Offi ce. In Microsoft Offi ce, the typeface is selected in the Home Font area of the ribbon. Click the Font drop-down arrow to see a list of installed fonts. The name of a font appears in a preview of the typeface. To change the typeface of the selection, click the font name in the list.
