In Microsoft Word, if a character or word is selected, the style may be applied as a character style. Many of the built-in styles can be either paragraph or character styles. However, a new style can be defi ned to be only a paragraph or a character style. This helps avoid accidentally applying the wrong type of style. Microsoft Word 2019 also contains collections of styles called style sets. A style set is a group of styles that have been designed to work together visually. To see the available style sets, click Design Document More Formatting on the ribbon. Clicking a style set name in the gallery makes all of the styles within the set available for use in the document. Hands-On Example 4.3.7 Formatting Text To create professional documents, you must be able to change color, size, font, style, and paragraph formatting. The use of styles allows consistent formatting within a document. 1. Launch Microsoft Word, and open the fi le LastNameBaltimore1 from the Chap04 folder on your fl ash drive, if it is not already open. 2.
