Use the cursor to highlight the X-axis box in the correct G54–G59 row and press the Part Zero Set button, Figure 9-28. This records the machine posi- tion in the appropriate offset. Repeat this process for the Y axis. Notice there is also an offset for the Z axis. Placing a number in that column will change the Z0 plane on which all the tools were established. There are instances where tools should be set to alternate planes. In those cases, a Z offset will be used. For the purposes of this text, this will be left as 0. You may also notice that there are more WCS settings than just G54–G59, and those can be used, if necessary, for multiple parts need- ing multiple work coordinates, Figure 9-29.
