For hospitality jobs, the interview is some-
times a little less formal. However, you should
always present yourself in a professional way.
One way to do this is to prepare for the inter-
view ahead of time. Here are four aspects of
the interview to practice:
Introducing yourself: Prepare a strong
introduction. Practice speaking slowly
and clearly.
Shaking hands: Practice giving a firm
handshake. Use your right hand to grasp
the other person’s hand firmly. End the
handshake after three seconds, 23-16.
Responding to questions: The interviewer
will ask you many questions, 23-17. Practice
answering these questions. Never say
anything negative about yourself, another
person, or another company. Maintain eye
contact with the person interviewing you.
