If the motor operates correctly, the problem is in the external circuit. To test a capacitor-start, induction-run (CSIR) motor, a new start capacitor and an extra jumper cord are required, Figure 25-13. Replace the capacitor in the system with a new one of the same voltage and micro- farad rating. Connect the wiring as shown in the dia- gram and operate the circuit as described previously.
