What Does a Fish and Game
Warden Do?
Fish and game wardens enforce hunting, fishing, and boating laws in
an effort to protect and conserve fish and wildlife. A game warden must:
promote hunter and boat safety and conduct search-and-rescue operations;
investigate complaints, issue citations, arrest violators, seize equipment
associated with the violations;
assist with prosecution of violations by testifying in court; and
educate the public on laws related to conservation and the environment.
What Is It Like to Work as a Fish and
Game Warden?
Fish and game wardens work outside in all types of conditions. They
patrol hunting and fishing areas to look for law violators. They conduct
search-and-rescue operations and investigate accidents. As law officers,
fish and game wardens carry weapons and may find themselves in
dangerous situations.

to Be a Fish and Game Warden?
