A wizard appears to guide you through creating a data collector set. 14. On the first page of the wizard, name the data collector set Practice Set, and click the Create from a template radio button. Then, click the Next button. 15. On the next page of the wizard, select the Basic template, and click the Next button. 16. On the next page of the wizard, click the Finish button to accept the default location for saving the file. The Practice Set data collector set appears in the right-hand pane, as shown. Notice that by default it is not running. 17. Double-click Practice Set in the right-hand pane to expand this branch. Notice the options now available in the right-hand pane. 18. Double-click Performance Counter in the right-hand pane to display the Performance Counter Properties dialog box. By default, a processor counter is included. Other counters can be added. 19. Click the Add… button in the dialog box. The same dialog box used earlier to add counters is displayed. 20. Applying what you have learned, add a bytes received per second counter for the network adapter. Then click the OK button to close the Performance Counter Properties dialog box. 21. Right-click on Practice Set in the left-hand pane, and click Start in the shortcut menu. Notice the icon for Practice Set changes to indicate it is running. 22. Leave the Performance Monitor open, launch a web browser, and navigate to a few web pages. 23. Return to the Performance Monitor.
