Creating and Using Filters
There are two basic steps in creating a fi lter: establish the search criteria,
and then set the actions to be taken on messages that meet those criteria. A
fi lter can be created with criteria entered in one or more of the fi elds.
Setting Up a Filter
1. Move the cursor over the search box at the top of the Gmail page, and
click the drop-down button on the right side of the search box. A fi lter
form is displayed, as shown in Figure 2-14.
2. In the
Has the words
text box, enter
Reunion
as the search criterion.
3. Click
Create filter with this search
at the bottom of the fi lter form. A
second page to the fi lter form is displayed, as shown in Figure 2-15.
4. Click the
Choose label…
button and select
Reunions
in the drop-down
list. You can select as many or as few actions as needed.
