Applying what you have learned, use the Properties toolbar to change the background color of Level 1 to a green color of your choice. 10. Click the Grid Setup button on the Editor Toolbar. The Grid Setup dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 3-1. 11. In the Size area, set the Width and Height values to 32, if not already. 12. Click the Color drop-down list, and click the yellow swatch. You can choose whichever color you feel will contrast with the green background. 13. Check the Snap to check box to enable snap. 14. Check the Show grid check box to have the grid displayed. 15. Click the OK button to close the dialog box and display the grid. The grid is displayed as rows and columns of colored dots. Adding and Naming Objects In naming game assets, you should follow a naming convention. A naming convention is a standard way of naming items. Following a naming convention makes it easy to identify the proper game asset during game construction. The naming convention used for this game will include the class of object, an underscore, and the name for the object. A class is a major grouping. This is like stating the noun, an underscore, and an adjective to differentiate the object from all other similar objects. For example, the name Ball_Soccer sets the object apart from all types other balls. The object is in the class of Ball. The type within the class is Soccer. 16. Applying what you have learned, expand the Local Library branch in the Library Toolbar. Expand the tree Local Library Games Game Objects 2 to show the leaves in the Game Objects 2 branch, as shown in Figure 3-2. 17. Click and hold the Ball 10 object, drag it to near the center of the game frame, and drop to add the object to the frame. 18. Applying what you have learned, use the Properties toolbar to rename the Ball 10 object as Ball_Tennis. 19. In the Library Toolbar, double-click the folder icon to go up one level in the tree.
