Additional unique shapes can be created by spinning a triangular mesh face. Spinning a mesh face spins the adjoining edge of two triangle mesh faces. Modifying a mesh face by spinning rotates the newly shared edge. The MESHSPIN command is used to spin a face. PROFESSIONAL TIP PROFESSIONAL TIP Use the Vertex option of the MESHSPLIT command to create triangular mesh faces. Figure 9-23 shows a pocket camera. The camera’s top button has been split to create two triangular faces. Before the button top can be extruded and smoothed, the top adjoining faces must be spun. Select the command, then pick the two triangular faces. Notice how the diagonal line of the triangular faces is now in a different orientation. You can then extrude one of the faces up or down to create a new button. Smooth the camera to create its fi nal design shape.
