Copyright Goodheart-Willcox Co., Inc. 408 AutoCAD and Its Applications—Advanced Point Cloud Display Options Point Cloud Display Options After the point cloud is attached, you can adjust the viewpoint and display as needed. To access point cloud display options, select the point cloud to access the Point Cloud contextual ribbon tab. See Figure 15-8. The Display, Visualization, Cropping, and Options panels provide display options and tools. The options in the Extract and Section panels are used to extract 2D drawing geometry and create section objects, as discussed later in this chapter. The tools in the Display panel allow you to adjust the point size and density. Use the slider bars to adjust the values, if needed. The navigation tools in the Display panel can be used to manipulate the viewpoint or change to a parallel or perspective projection. The options in the Visualization panel allow you to adjust the display color, trans- parency, and lighting. The options in the Stylization drop-down menu are used to set the color style. The Scan Colors option uses the original scan colors. The Object Color option uses the color assigned to the point cloud object. The Normal option assigns colors based on the normal direction of each point. The colors used are based on values assigned to the X, Y, and Z axes. The Intensity option assigns colors based on point intensity values. The Elevation option assigns colors based on the Z coordinate values of points. The Classification option assigns colors based on point classifi cations.
