Copyright Goodheart-Willcox Co., Inc. Chapter 15 Point Clouds 409 This option is available if classifi cations are defi ned in the scan fi le. Picking the Color Mapping button in the Visualization panel opens the Point Cloud Color Map dialog box, which can be used to customize the Intensity, Elevation, and Classification color styles. Color schemes available for the Intensity, Elevation, and Classification color styles can be selected from the Color Schemes drop-down list. The Transparency option is used to apply transparency to the point cloud. Use the slider or the text box to adjust the value. The value can range from 0 to 90. As with other transparency settings in AutoCAD, the higher the transparency value, the greater the transparency. The Lighting drop-down list can be used to adjust the lighting applied to the scene. The default option is No Lighting. If you select the Single Sided or Double Sided option, you can set the shading and light source using the Shading and Light Source drop- down lists. Lighting is discussed in detail in Chapter 18. The options in the Cropping panel allow you to crop the point cloud using a rectangular, polygonal, or circular boundary. Selecting one of the options from the Crop drop-down list initiates the POINTCLOUDCROP command and sets the type of boundary used for cropping. Cropping enables you to show relevant areas without displaying the entire point cloud. See Figure 15-9. When defi ning the cropping boundary, you can specify whether to keep the points inside or outside the crop. Once the crop is defi ned, you can invert, hide, or remove the crop. You can also save the cropped view as a crop state. To save a crop state, expand the Cropping panel and pick the New Crop State button to activate the POINTCLOUDCROPSTATE command. When prompted, enter a name for the crop state. The Crop State drop- down list in the expanded Cropping panel lists all crop states for the point cloud and can be used to restore a previously created crop state. To delete a crop state, use the POINTCLOUDCROPSTATE command.
