Now, Microsoft Offi ce has made doing so an easy, streamlined process that does not require the Snipping Tool. Users can capture information without leaving the software program in which they are working. This feature is available in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. It is necessary to have the window open and not minimized. You can then use the tools on the Picture Tools on-demand tab to edit and enhance the screenshot. Choose Insert Images Screenshot on the ribbon. Open program windows are then displayed as thumbnails in the Available Windows gallery. Selecting one of the available windows inserts the entire program window. If you want to insert part of a program window, click Screenshot Screen Clipping in the lower-left corner of the Available Windows gallery. Be sure that the desired window is selected. When clicked, the selected window will appear and become cloudy temporarily. The cursor becomes a plus sign. Drag the cursor to select the desired part of the window. The selection will show clearly through the cloud. Release the cursor and the screen clipping appears in the document or on the slide. Adding Alternative Text Alternative text, or alt text, is text that appears when the cursor is placed above an image, model, or other media fi le. This is done for accessibility purposes. To add alternative text to an object, fi rst select the image, and then click Format Accessibility Alt Text. You can also right- click the image and select Edit Alt Text from the shortcut menu.
